Little people and a look at my writing process!

No, by little people I don’t mean fairies or elves! I mean our kids. They’re all just fascinating little versions of ourselves! I haven’t said much about my kids anywhere but they are something else. My youngest are still at home. My middle child, my only daughter just started college this year. It’s weird to realize technically they’re adults. This is what it’s like with my youngest, who is a senior. He asked the other day about the end of the nine weeks. I told him yes, it is next week. He said, “third nine weeks, right?” I said no, second. My husband is sitting beside me, listening. Kev goes “wait, doesn’t that school end in may? We’re going to have to go a lot longer since there’s three weeks in a month.” Both of us just looked at him like he’s nuts. He’s been in the gifted program at his school since second grade and he doesn’t know how long a month is? My husband was stunned. I just laughed my butt off. Then we explained there are four weeks at least. He was so embarrassed. Seriously, do they not have calendars on computers? He’s always doing stuff like that. Little things we all know, they haven’t got a clue! Now, my writing. I’m terrible. I am like my youngest and an awful procrastinator. Love to write and my characters run through my head constantly. I’m always jogging out of a room to go find a notebook to jot down a note or a scene. I can’t drive to work without hearing my hero say something stupid and the fight is on. In my head. Ugh! I hate that since I don’t have a notebook while driving! I’m disorganized and haphazard with my desk and my notes. I’m always scrounging through my purse to find notes I wrote on a receipt or an envelope. I wish I could say I sit down at the same time every day and bang out chapter after chapter but I don’t. When I do, I whip through it and lose all sense of time until my husband stands over me glaring because he’s off to bed! But I love the whole process and I hope y’all love the finished work as much as I love to let my characters run amok on the pages. Love ya!
